We want everyone who works at CVS Health to feel empowered by the role they play in transforming our culture and accelerating our ability to innovate and deliver solutions to make health care more personal, convenient and affordable.Position SummaryThe Lead Solution Architect is accountable for the business solution designs for key strategic initiatives including (but not limited to) developing architectures that represent business, applications/integration, data, infrastructure, platform, and security architectures.Required Qualifications10+ years of experience in software design and development2+ years of experience hands-on cloud implementationAccountability and oversight for driving solutions for key strategic initiatives from cradle to grave for a given domain by providing leadership and oversight to solution engineers and architects who are intimately familiar with the application architectures within their specific domain.Provide technology leadership, solution oversight, and guidance to ensure that the solution adheres to PSS Architecture Guiding Principles and standards while maximizing reuse of technology assets.In depth experience in performing Buy vs Build analysis based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis across the available options to provide a final recommendation based on the rationalePlay a key leadership role in architecture design reviews and identify gaps and recommend design changes.Actively lead and participate in the Architecture community to drive modernization opportunities for the advancement of PBM technology while keeping in mind the complexities of our IT landscapeDevelop Reference architecture and implementation. Providing leadership, coaching and guidance to App Dev, Technology Services and Solutions and EA to develop/assemble PBM-applicable reference architectures for cloud-native applications to be applied to PBM apps targeted for refactor and optimization.Lead and drive proofs-of-concept and technology deep-dives specific to partner technologiesAdvise and assist App development teams with technical roadblocks such as performance challenges within a solution in key strategic initiatives
Preferred QualificationsArchitecture Design & Strategy : TOGAF, Design thinking, Enterprise/Solution/Integration Architecture, Cloud and API First Design strategy, Microservices, Service-oriented architecture (SOA).Technology & Platforms : IoT, AI/ML, Azure, IBM/Oracle Cloud, ecommerce cloud platforms.Technology Stack & Methodologies : Agile (SAFe), Continuous Integration/ Delivery, Spring Framework, Python, RESTful API, GraphQL, API Management (IBM API Connect, Oracle API Gateway), 12 Factor App methodology.Data & Messaging : Oracle, DB2, MySQL, Mongo DB, Cloud storage (Azure Blob Storage, AWS S3), Kafka, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Messaging & Queuing, Azure Service Bus, Oracle Service Bus/SOA Suite.
EducationBachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field required or equivelant experienceMasters Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or equivelant experiencePay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$124,372.50 - $247,200.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
