Scottsdale, AZ 85257Potential for hybrid-must be able to come to office as neededRATE RANGE: $70/hr - $85/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract)ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:As a systems/software Integration and Test engineer, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system.We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:Satellite communications knowledgeGround to Satellite communication knowledgeGround operations experienceKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Works beyond the bounds of their own organization to collaborate and influence othersErroneous decisions will result in significant non-compliance, risk to employees and /or the environments within which company operatesThe reputation of company can be impactedRequires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationshipExtensive communication skills for interaction with executive leadership on items of significant importance (remediation, risk mgt., regulatory compliance, etc.)Extensive ability to present in clear and certain termsSubject matter expert in multiple fieldsInvolved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effectADDITIONAL REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:Performs requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements under supervision of the lead systems engineerPerforms technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elementsPerforms customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (elements and components)Performs detailed technical analyses for a subsystem or system elementsDevelops and evaluates systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specificationsMay provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features (e.g., identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) of the system are considered and function properlyMay develop system security documentation on both new and fielded information systemsParticipates in Modeling and SimulationResearches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or applicationSupports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycleMay provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employeesIndependently determines proposed approach to solutionsContributes to the completion of major programs and projectsPlans and executes project tasks for activities described aboveCreative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skillsDefines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibilityDemonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutionsDesigns a complete and complex framework, system or productIdentifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknessesRegular contact with senior levels of internal working groupsContact with Deputy Program Managers Engineering (DPME) and other professionals within the Engineering department and with project teams across the companyDevSecOps experience with some of the following platform/tools:AWSGitLabDockerJenkinsAnsibleTerraformMissile Warning/Missile Tracking system integration, test, operations experienceFamiliar with Agile philosophies and processesWhat sets you apart:Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the software development life cycleExpertise in applying technical standards and methodologies to solve challengesExceptional communication skills with the capacity to secure buy-in on concepts and ideasCollaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for successCommitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and othersRequires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
