LOCATION:

Hybrid Working (2 days working from home, 3 days working from the office). Candidates can work from the Newport or Monmouth office and must live within a commutable distance to either one of the offices.

Due to increased demand for the Law Firm’s services, we have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Commercial Property Solicitor / Lawyer who is a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with previous experience in commercial property law.

Working as a Commercial Property Solicitor / Lawyer you will enjoy an interesting and varied mix of work to include commercial leases, landed estates, option agreements and agricultural property. The firm has a strong reputation in this area and boasts an impressive commercial client base.

As a Commercial Property Solicitor / Lawyer you will join a Law Firm where the working environment is professional but caring; the majority of their staff have worked with the Law Firm for over 10 years.

The Law Firm is one of the longest-standing solicitors practices in South Wales, with roots dating back to the early 1900s. Over the years they have built up a loyal customer base, often looking after several generations of the same family. They pride themselves on their excellent reputation and their client-focused service.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Commercial Property Solicitor / Lawyer include:

Transaction Management:

Overseeing the entire lifecycle of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, and refinancing

Conducting due diligence investigations, reviewing title deeds, and identifying potential risks

Drafting and reviewing complex legal documents, such as sale and purchase agreements, leases, and finance documents

Negotiating terms with counterparties and advising clients on strategic options

Coordinating with other professionals, such as surveyors, valuers, and tax advisors

Client Advisory:

Providing strategic legal advice to clients on a range of commercial property matters

Advising on property development projects, including planning, construction, and funding

Assisting with property finance transactions, including debt and equity financing

Handling landlord and tenant disputes, including lease renewals, rent reviews, and breaches of covenant

Risk Management:

Identifying and mitigating legal risks associated with commercial property transactions

Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards

Developing effective risk management strategies and procedures

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

You will need to be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with previous experience in commercial property

Strong technical knowledge of commercial property law

Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

Ability to manage a demanding workload and meet tight deadlines

Strong client relationship management skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Live within a commutable distance to either Newport or Monmouth
