Position Summary
The Director of Retail is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the retail operations across all locations. This position will monitor overall retail performance for the company, driving results by implementing standard operating procedures, financial control and developing action plans while monitoring and developing the District Manager team. This position is key to the success of the company, ensuring that retail goals and strategies are met by driving revenue and increasing profitability. The Director of Retail will contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth. This position will contribute to the overall strategic direction and decision-making processes of the company.
Essential Responsibilities
Guides the District Manager’s in defining operational goals, best practice standards, and appropriate policies and procedures.
Directs the operations and financial performance for all Stash Ventures retail locations. Develop budgets including sales and operational targets and manage P&Ls to maximize profit potential.
Utilizes reporting to determine trends, strengths and opportunities and makes recommendations based on that data.
Establishes KPI’s for the District Managers and assists them in creating and improving overall KPIs for all stores.
Collaborates with the leadership team to develop and implement long range strategies to ensure that stores are meeting or exceeding their forecasted sales and operations plans.
Evaluates retail sales trends and establish direction for growth in existing markets.
Stays informed of new technology and process as well as cannabis retail industry initiatives to drive innovation and efficiency within stores.
Assesses needs of stores and makes recommendations necessary to facilitate growth and continued enhancements of store operations.
Oversees the Retail Operations teams to ensure we are meeting and adhering to all regulatory bodies with oversight of store operations.
Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure a comprehensive and effective marketing strategy to drive foot traffic to the stores.
Ensure effective inventory control through coordination with the Operations team and the Supply Chain team.
Mentor and motivate District Managers and their teams, fostering growth through succession planning and internal development.
Proactively monitors external factors and rules that may affect the company. Uses knowledge to plan work and guide decision making.
Travel to all store locations on a rotating basis will be required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Business Administration, Management, or related field.
Proven Experience in a senior leadership role within the cannabis industry or similar retail environment.
A minimum of five (5) years management experience is required.
Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of effectively leading and inspiring teams.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices within the cannabis industry.
Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as applicable software.
Demonstrates thorough business/industry knowledge and can integrate business information and respond to changing market dynamics effectively.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering data.
