Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced
Project Manager
for our
Energy Storage Group
with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise; along with the capability to creatively problem solve and bring together viable solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital, with attention to detail equally important. The
Project Manager
will provide overall leadership direction to a project; including the management of project quality, timeliness, and safety, as well as mentoring the project team. Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.
The base compensation range for this role is $108,000 - $162,000 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%) This position is eligible for a potential annual bonus.]
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skill, and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
Traveling PM Role 75-100%
Locations: AZ, TX, CA, OK, Midwest, CO
Responsibilities:
Organization, flexibility, outstanding customer focus, and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to:
Manage the overall financial health of projectsSupport and potentially lead EPC contract negotiations with customers, including assembly of technical exhibits, the scope of work, and project schedules to align with contract requirements.Leading vendor procurement and bid/award phase for all major subs and suppliers. Including RFP creation, vendor solicitation, technical scoping, risk analysis, budget alignment, and contract negotiations.Develop and maintain project financial projections and equipment projectionsDetermine and allocate project estimates into the financial systemDetermine cost codes, approve invoices, and make necessary budget management decisionsProvide financial and billings to Accounting for timely paymentCreate monthly owner billings
Manage subcontracts and suppliers for the projectOversee budget for and make selections of trade partners and suppliersHandle billings and contract management, including contract buyouts
Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s)Provide job assignments and manage career developmentApprove time cards for on-site team membersProvide ongoing feedback on work performance
Function as the main point of contact with the owner and on-site representativeAssist with the review of the owner agreementResolve site concerns for the owner or representativeProvide frequent interactions and service to build positive relationships and future work opportunities
Manage change ordersDetermine when to submit to the owner or on-site representativesObtain the customer/architect's approval
Qualifications:Minimum six years of related previous experienceProven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projectsDetail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasksPossess a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesPreference for candidates with experience in one or more of the following: commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies.Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate levelProven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesCurrent driver's license
Education:Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
