Summary:

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced

Electrical Commissioning Manager I

responsible for providing project management and design leadership, as well as effective customer relationship management with new and existing customers for our

Energy Storage Group . Support our continued growth by aiding in the development, roll-out, and execution of early-stage Energy Solutions planning and development service offerings and leading the commissioning team during the construction of energy storage installations.

50/50 split Road (Field) & Design

The base compensation range for this role is $118,000 - $177,000 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%) This position is eligible for a potential annual bonus.]

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skill, and experience with consideration given to internal equity.

Locations Include: MN, AZ, TX, CA, CO

Responsibilities:

Provide technical electrical supportReview design documents to ensure conformance with contract expectations, noting and resolving issues or conflicts that could impact installation or other trades involved with the projectReview contractual testing, commissioning, and turnover requirements.Understanding of PPA and Interconnection testing and turnover requirements.Assemble plan and schedule for onsite testing and commissioning services.Supervise and ensure quality control of the work team, including self-performed and subcontracted workDevelop standard bid packages for 3rd party testing services.Interface with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support the project scheduleWork with Project Manager(s)/Electrical Managers to budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and the general working environmentManage the interface with appropriate personnel concerned with the connection of the project power grid to the existing distribution systemReview construction documents for completeness and constructabilitySupport the creation, review, and update project schedule and 3-week look ahead schedulingCoordinate plans and specifications with engineers, identifying and clarifying any discrepanciesDevelop and implement a site utilization plan and establish crew sizesConduct effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetingsEnsure correct implementation of the Mortenson Project Quality Plan (PQP) and assist in the development and updating of the project control logs and QC documentation; assist with the development of electrical Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)Provide onsite support to the electrical team

Lead electrical personnel on the project site.Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and superintendentsEstablish and nurture a teamwork environmentEnsure crews have resources and supportProvide work direction and performance evaluationsIdentify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if neededDevelop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunitiesImplement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program at the project siteManage open shop and union issuesQualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field experienceMinimum eight years of electrical construction management and/or commissioning experience.Proficiency in low, medium, and high-voltage technical knowledgeSpecialized knowledge/experience in the area of electrical DC systems, low voltage AC systems, controls, and substationsCurrent driver's licenseBENEFITS
