SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced
Electrical Project Manager
-
Solar
with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The
Electrical Project Manager
will provide electrical technical support throughout the entire construction project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical electrical support to our crews and subcontractors. Supervision of self-performing crews is necessary.Identify qualified electrical contractors and engineers and maintain a list of areas of their expertise and geographical limitsReview design documents to ensure conformance with contract expectations, noting and resolving issues or conflicts that could impact installation or other trades involved with the projectReview system studies performed by the engineer of record, ensuring conformance with contract documentsIdentify and ensure implementation of best practices and low-cost alternatives, ensuring all clients are kept informed of issues affecting their project(s)Develop standard bid package bid form for collection system, substations, and interconnectInterface with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support the project scheduleWork with Project Manager(s) to budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and general working environmentReview construction documents for completeness and constructabilitySupport the creation, review, and update of the project schedule and 3-week look ahead scheduleCoordinate plans and specifications with engineers, identifying and clarifying any discrepanciesDevelop and implement a site utilization plan and establish crew sizesSelect form-work systems and equipmentConduct effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetingsProvide on-site support to the electrical team
Manage electrical engineersProvide electrical design and installation support to on-site staffCoach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendentsEstablish and nurture a teamwork environmentEnsure crews have resources and supportProvide work direction and performance evaluationsIdentify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if neededDevelop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunitiesImplement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program at the project siteManage open shop and union issuesSupervisory Responsibility

Responsible for the mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluationsQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum eight years of electrical construction/project managementMinimum of five years of electrical design experienceSolar experience preferredMinimum one year experience with project completion from mobilization to turnoverAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesAbility to travel 100% with rotations home every three weeksExperience as an electrician preferredknowledge of the NEC code and NE safety codeStrong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsDetail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasksPossess a basic understanding of construction law and accepted business practicesMicrosoft Office, Project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate levelProven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsWhen the project is done need to be willing to go to the next project in the United States for Solar GroupEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or equivalent experience
