The Director for Teaching, Learning & Academic Support will be responsible for providing leadership and support for teaching and learning through faculty development and success, assessment, and accreditation. The Director will support student success through oversight of the IVYT Student Success courses. The Director will also participate in various projects, including collaboration on Perkins grant requests and K-14 initiatives. This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and works closely with the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Enrollment and Student Success, Executive Director of Ivy+ Career Link, Academic Deans, Educational Technology, and Director of K-14 to establish strategies coordinated with campus and statewide efforts in key areas, including classroom management, dual-credit, enrollment, completion, retention, and student success.Leads implementation of initiatives and activities to enhance the campus’ teaching and learning environment, including but not limited to student success initiatives, curriculum development, faculty development (professional development opportunities), technology integration, and learning outcomes assessments.Fosters a supportive learning environment in which to explore teaching practices and reflect upon a range of instructional practices.Maintain current knowledge of trends and innovations in community colleges and in the programs of study offered by the campus. Communicate and share this knowledge regularly with faculty and staff.Acts as a representative on various campus-led academic and administrative committees as directed by the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs.Coordinates student success programming, including new student orientation and the IVYT New Student Success Course, which includes recruiting, hiring, developing, and evaluating adjunct faculty members.Meets and collaborates with school deans regarding faculty development needs and issues.Develops, coordinates and assists in collaborative training for new faculty orientation.Assists faculty with the development and effective assessment of student learning outcomes.Uses data-informed technologies to provide professional development opportunities for faculty to continuously improve teaching practices.Attends statewide curriculum committee meetings for Student Success courses.Oversees the College’s Tutoring Center and Supplemental Instruction programs, including hiring, developing, and evaluating staff.Teaches 3 to 9 credits per year.This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. IVYT faculty, tutoring services, supplemental instructional staff.Minimum Qualifications:A Master’s degree in a relevant field is required. A doctorate is preferred. Teaching experience in a higher education setting is required; demonstrated leadership ability is desired. A track record of success as a post-secondary educator with an innovative and strategic mindset around pedagogy and emerging technologies. Experience managing complex initiatives, building effective working relationships, and motivating and influencing teams. Skilled in collaborative and creative problem-solving. Fluent in data analytics and application. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Familiar with higher education trends and changing technologies that impact teaching and learning pedagogy and processes. Ability to work in fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.Other Requirements:Official college transcripts required upon hiring, and employment contingent on acceptable criminal background check.Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.Pay Range:
