Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management
POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services is a member of the senior management team at the College of Staten Island and serves on the President’s cabinet. The Vice President will be responsible for leadership in all areas under the jurisdiction of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services, providing the vision for the programs and services that will enhance student experiences at the College, drive enrollment and ensure the overall success and well-being of the student population. The Vice President is the primary liaison to student government organizations, and represents the College at all City University functions related to student and enrollment services. The Vice President will be a visionary leader and will be responsible for providing vision and strategic direction, in partnership with Academic Affairs, in support of the College’s commitment to student retention, student success and enhancing student satisfaction and shape the student experience. The Vice President will oversee strategic planning reflecting that vision, and supervise staff responsible for implementing those plans.
The Division of Student and Enrollment Services includes the following areas: Athletics, Career and Professional Development Center, Child Care Center, College Association, Counseling Center, Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, Health and Wellness Services, LGBTQ Resource Center, New Student Orientation, Office of Accessibility Services, Recruitment and Admissions, Student Housing, Student Life, Veterans Support Services.
The Vice President will:
Continuously assess the effectiveness of student services and enrollment strategies using data-driven approaches, adjusting programs and policies as needed, and create a unified vision and strategy for enhancing the student experience in alignment with the College’s strategic plan;
Collaborate with the Office of Academic Affairs on retention strategies and initiatives to improve student retention and student success;
Partner with the Chief Diversity Officer and other key stakeholders on student diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategic initiatives which includes developing and maintaining a wide-variety of strong programs in support of diversity on campus;
Enhance and develop resources for continued student development focused on student wellbeing and sense of belonging; expand high-impact student well-being initiatives;
Oversee a close working relationship between the Student and Enrollment Services functions and the Office of the Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated system of efforts in all aspects of activities related to student experiences at the College, addressing academic and non-academic needs as students work toward their degree;
Serve as the primary liaison to student government organizations, and represent the College at all City University functions related to student and enrollment services;
Develop and oversee a comprehensive and integrated enrollment strategy for the College and be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a well-coordinated program for the College consistent with the enrollment goals and targets established by the University;
Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to directors and staff in student affairs and enrollment management;
Support and develop student leaders, fostering an environment that encourages students to take active roles in campus governance and activities;
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
Preferred:
A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in a relevant field;
Significant experience in progressively responsible leadership roles in student affairs, enrollment management, or related areas within higher education (minimum 8 years);
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for student services and enrollment management that align with institutional goals;
Understanding of higher education market trends, demographic shifts, and enrollment challenges, including the ability to use data to inform recruitment strategies;
Ability to build rapport with students and a genuine commitment to addressing their needs and concerns;
Strong integrity and commitment to ethical leadership, transparency, and accountability.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$190,000 - $215,000. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
