The Division of Enrollment Management at Bronx Community College is dedicated to advancing the institution's goals in alignment with the president's vision. Our mission is to enhance BCC's competitiveness in achieving enrollment targets while fostering student success through collaboration across campus. The division's offices provide essential support and services that underpin the academic framework throughout the student journey.

Role Overview

To support the campus mission and strategic objectives, we are seeking an experienced Registrar. This pivotal role within the Division of Enrollment Management entails planning, organizing, and overseeing all activities related to student records, course scheduling, registration, enrollment verification, graduation certification, web-based attendance and grading systems, and daily operations of the Registrar’s office.

Reporting directly to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Registrar will be instrumental in managing BCC's enrollment processes. Collaboration with stakeholders across the college, particularly in Academic Affairs and Information Technology Services, will be crucial. The Registrar will contribute to re-designing business processes and implementing and managing technology solutions to bolster enrollment, retention, and student success.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and vision for the Office of the Registrar, ensuring effective management and oversight of enrollment and registration operations.

Collaborate with the VP for Enrollment Management to develop and execute the College’s strategic enrollment goals, playing a pivotal role in maintaining CUNYFirst.

Implement systematic approaches to address student issues and recommend business process improvements.

Oversee the institution’s student information system and provide strategic supervision of student records, registration documents, and systems support.

Foster seamless student services by working closely with the Admissions Director and Financial Aid Director, aiming for high levels of service and productivity.

Evaluate and recommend technology enhancements to improve staff efficiency, workflow, and service management functions.

Field and implement new technologies to advance campus registration, institutional data collection, and degree audit protocols.

Assist the VP in developing policies and procedures for the Enrollment Management division, providing data for decision-making and ensuring accurate departmental performance metrics.

Lead various enrollment and retention initiatives, as well as participate in University-wide initiatives and serve on teams, committees, and action groups.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive strategic initiatives that enhance BCC’s enrollment processes and support student achievement within a dynamic educational environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and eight years of related experience.

Preferred: Eight years of progressively responsible experience in college/university registration, including proficiency with computerized registration systems.

Experience in supervising a large, diverse staff.

Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.

Proficiency in national standards for academic records, policies, and procedures.

Knowledge of record retention policies, data privacy (FERPA), AACRAO guidelines, and federal/state regulatory requirements.

Thorough understanding of student information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft or similar SIS).

Familiarity with issues affecting student success and retention in urban settings.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, capable of achieving results both independently and collaboratively.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Directs College registration operations and serves as Registrar. Provides leadership in advancing the College's enrollment goals and is responsible for all activities associated with the registration process. Develops strategic plan to address student enrollment, registration activities, data collection and dissemination, records confidentiality and degree audit protocol; assures quality of testing and implementation of system updates. Oversees a wide array of enrollment and retention initiatives and special projects; recommends and administers enhanced technology applications to improve processing systems and data integrity. Assesses outcomes and formulates responses to meet established goals and objectives; presents performance results data to facilitate executive decision-making. Ensures reporting requirements are completed in timely and accurate manner to fulfill various legal obligations; maintains audit trails. Manages professional and clerical staff as well as department budget. Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary commensurate with education and experience; $129,310 - $141,858.
