The Department of Counselor Education at Bridgewater State University (BSU) invites applications for a full-time, in-person, tenure-track teaching position starting in Fall 2025. Located in Southeastern Massachusetts, just 45 minutes from both Boston, MA, and Providence, RI, BSU offers a vibrant academic community and a supportive environment for professional growth.The Department is comprised of 4 full-time faculty members and a full-time Director of Fieldwork serving two CACREP programs—Mental Health and School Counseling—as well as a master’s program in Student Affairs. We are committed to fostering diversity and infusing ethics and best practices within our curriculum. Candidates should be adept at leveraging technology for teaching and learning, capable of working collaboratively, and dedicated to public higher education.Bridgewater State University is an inclusive community dedicated to the lifelong success of all students; focused on the continuous improvement of its people; and is responsible for leading innovation that benefits Southeastern Massachusetts, the commonwealth, and the world.Responsibilities:Teach graduate counseling courses as part of a 3:3 teaching load, with the possibility of additional evening courses and summer courses subject to availability.Advise graduate counseling students.Engage in scholarship and service to BSU and the community.Required Qualifications:Ph.D. in Counselor Education by August 31, 2025.Commitment to social justice/equity.Evidence of effective teaching experience in a higher education setting.Evidence of scholarly activities related to counseling, counselor education, and/or counselor training.Membership and commitment in counseling and counselor education related professional organizations.Preferred Qualifications:Doctoral degree from a CACREP accredited program.Is license eligible or currently holds an independent license in professional Mental Health Counseling in Massachusetts.Evidence of effective clinical supervision experience.Expertise and/or experience with diverse populations.Work experience as a professional mental health counselor.Experience in teaching CACREP core courses including practicum and internship.Evidence of effective partnerships within and among community stakeholders.Experience teaching in higher education, including utilizing technology and distance learning.Knowledge of and/or experience with CACREP standards.Special Conditions for Eligibility:
