General Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Communications and Development works in public relations, development, communication and community awareness.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Develops and executes a coordinated fundraising strategy to maintain $1M+ in annual charitable giving.
Directs public/media relations and communications activity.
Develops and cultivates relationships with current and potential donors and supporters of CCHSA.
Leads the strategic planning for communication activities that support the relationships between the clinic and its external constituents such as directors, donors and friends.
Coordinates production of clinic literature, collateral and other promotional materials.
Oversees the management of the clinic web site and ensures that all content is current and accurate.
Develops and delivers public presentations for clinic.
Directs grant writing and fundraising.
Oversees the production of the CCHSA Annual Report and interim update reports.
Coordinates publicity for special/fundraising events.
Represents CCHSA at local, civic and other events.
Provides strategic direction to the CEO for partnership, community connections and internal communications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of public relations, communications, marketing and fundraising.
Skilled at internet content development and web site management.
Experience planning and coordinating special/fundraising events.
Ability to coordinate the production of printed material, video programs and other promotional materials.
Skilled at public speaking and able to convey the mission and vision of CCHSA to large or small groups of people or individuals.
Able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a Masters Degree in Communications, Public Relations or Business Administration. This position requires at least 5 years of experience in related areas.
