Description:The University of Hawai?i–West O?ahu is seeking a skilled Media Technology Specialist to join the Ho?okele Huaka?i Na?auao: The Learned Journey grant project and UH West O?ahu Creative Media team to support grant focused student and faculty project needs and other related digital media support. This role will collaborate with faculty and students to produce high-quality learning resources, productions, and other innovative digital tools to enhance distance learning. In addition, this position will be trained to use highly specialized media equipment in order to train students and faculty.Duties and Responsibilities:Content development responsibilities in support of the Title III Ho?okele Huaka?i Na?auao: The Learned Journey grant project including:Developing creative digital content solutions that build upon UH West O?ahu faculty strengths, meet goals for student recruitment, and improve student retention.Create original content that drives engagement in distance education classes, editing content provided by subject matter experts within various divisions at UH West O?ahu.Contributing to the development of video assets, such as writing scripts or storyboards.Ensuring all produced content meets quality standards and maintains consistent messaging and voice.Meet with the Ho?okele Huaka?i Na?auao grant team and generate creative design ideas from basic concepts.Travel as needed to University of Hawai?i Maui College and Kaua?i Community College to collaborate with faculty and distance education students.Work collaboratively with the development team to ensure the media is developed according to the approved design specifications, goals, and objectives of the Title III grant and the college.Researches and acquires necessary releases, licenses, and approvals as required.Applies personal full-performance multimedia specialty expertise (graphic design, videography, cartography, or multimedia design/development) to produce the related multimedia requirements and to provide cross-specialty training to others.Develops and supports the development and maintenance of team and project schedules/timelines.Organize a personal work schedule to facilitate task completion and maximize use of time.Use multimedia design knowledge and experience to create clear and engaging multimedia materials/resources that effectively meet the needs of the project and related courses.Design and develop multimedia objects including but not limited to: video presentations, animations, interactive content, narrated slide presentations, screen captures, audio recordings.Execute post-production of multiple video projects for inclusion in innovative online learning experiences, including editing, mixing, mastering, and color correcting video assets.Plan, coordinate, manage and direct details of photo/video shoots with content experts and project leads.Develop high quality and cutting-edge immersive media.Implement multimedia/video production practices that are effective and meet defined objectives.Present multimedia projects in clear and concise formats.Make recommendations on the exploration and adoption of new technologies and design strategies.Generate weekly status reports for projects.Research emerging technology, new applications, and online learning tools for further recommendation and implementation.Keep the team knowledge current regarding advances in media technology and research about multimedia in a teaching environment.Implement new formats, technology, and integrations into the learning process.Introduce new technologies and multimedia production strategies that meet needs and advance the capability to deliver quality services.Provide professional and timely input and contribute to informed decisions.Provide professional advice for use of multimedia in distance education courses.Provide training that focuses on multimedia tools and techniques as needed.Support faculty with copyright and fair use guidelines for using multimedia materials.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Art, Design, Creative Media, Media Production, or related field and one (1) year of experience developing innovative digital tools in a professional setting.Understanding of Native Hawaiian cultural values, practices, and beliefs.Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Unity, associated hardware.Familiarity with AR/VR/Mixed reality and hardware components.Strong communication, collaboration, and time management abilities.To Apply:Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen to complete an application and attach required documents by the closing date:1.
