Overview of OASISWalden University's Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services (OASIS) provides academic support, instruction, and resources for Walden undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students. Following Walden's Success by Degree framework, OASIS aligns our instructional support with university-wide, degree-level learning outcomes. OASIS staff members collaborate with each other and teams across Walden to connect students with flexible, seamless academic support where and when they need it.Opportunity at a GlanceThe Educational Media Specialist will produce high quality, innovative content for students. This role will support the development of content across the university, working closely with key stakeholders to develop instructional visual images and multimedia components. The person in this role should have a passion for exploring new tools and approaches for media creation and a particular interest in adapting the engaging and dynamic content found on social media platforms for learning environments. The successful candidate will be proactive in staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in instructional media and will be able to adapt these trends to create effective and innovative learning content for online adult learners.This position will report into the university's Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services (OASIS) department, which provides instruction to help students develop academic and professional skills for success in areas such as scholarly research, writing, study strategies, reading, and more.ResponsibilitiesWorks closely with teams and university-wide departments to create original video, audio, motion graphics, and other media to meet pedagogical objectives and enhance student-learning objectives.Collaborates with key stakeholders to create instructional material in a visually dynamic, engaging, and interactive format; provides other departments with expertise and assistance as needed.Collaborates with the project team during the development process to identify best media approaches to be used in designing, delivering, and/or supporting of specific learning content.Leverages the asset management system to perform content searches; ensures all elements are tagged appropriately; performs accurate and efficient archiving and asset maintenance according to departmental guidelines.Applies style and formatting guidelines, along with Accessibility and multi-media device delivery requirements, to ensure logic and consistency among instructional and related media elements.Provide technical enhancement in order to facilitate finishing and mastering; includes audio mixing, color correction, and photo enhancements.Utilizes artistic and creative techniques, such as effects, compositing, musical interludes, etc., to add sophistication and engagement value to the requested program assembly.Determines the need for additional media assets, based on contextual, stylistic, or technical needs.Assists on special video projects for departments, organizations, or external clients.Ensures all assignments are delivered on a timely basis with exceptional quality and accuracy.Actively participates in team meetings, maintaining clear and collaborative communication with team members to build consensus and ensure adherence to schedules, deadlines, and goals.Stays current with the latest hardware and software technologies.Required for all JobsPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsQualifications

QualificationsBachelors Degree - In Electronic Media and Film or Related Field- Required3+ years experiencein video-based media creation, digital product design and creation, application of multimedia technologies, audiovisual editing and/or digital media programming. Required

Experience editing educational media.Preferred.Experience with Media Asset Management systems.PreferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to apply best practices during media and course development, demonstrating understanding of foundational design principles.Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Encoder platforms.Proficiency in Adobe Character Animator, Adobe Captivate, and Adobe Dimension platforms.Ability to modify After Effects templates.Thorough knowledge of Microsoft's Office suite and communication tools.Maintains a working knowledge of online learning principles, adult learning theory, and media technology.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong oral and written communication.Ability to learn new software application skills and synthesize information quickly.Ability to work in a fast-paced and team environment, collaborating with various institutional and product development stakeholders.Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously and self-manage time and deliverables.Highly motivated and comfortable making decisions and judgment calls on content development.Works with minimal oversight to complete assigned media projects at the course and program levels.Adapts to rapidly changing project timelines and deliverables.Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $53520.9 and $93918.96. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
