Job Duties and Responsibilities
This Staff API Developer will be working within the Retail Wireless team in our Dish Grand Central office located in Denver, CO. You will be working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment spanning the Retail Wireless team and broader Dish organizations.Key Responsibilities:Designing and implementing AWS cloud native backend components supporting our mobile appsThis position will require interaction among multiple teams, internal and external, to provide the logic and integrations necessary to drive our mobile layerAbility to design and implement AWS based architectures that enable cost effective high throughput using serverless and autoscalingThis role requires a heavy usage of automation to deploy components quickly and with low riskRecommending standards, best practices, architectures, and technologies to stay on the leading edge of mobile developmentDeploying and supporting the apps that you and your team deliver to ensure the optimal customer experience
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience7+ years of experience in software development5+ years of cloud experience (AWS/GCP)5+ years working with Web Services, REST API and Microservices patterns3+ years of modern software development utilizing automation for builds, testing, deployments using CDKSkills and Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in software application Lifecycle Management (LCM), and composition of JSON/YAML filesExperience with Infrastructure-as-Code practice and tools, such as Vault, Jenkins, Ansible, TerraformExperience in programming, system integration, or software product deployment, using one or more of the following: Java, TypeScript, Python, or advanced Shell scriptingExperience managing applications in Amazon Web Services and familiarity with all of their core, compute, networking, storage, security, compliance, serverless, orchestration, and analytics offeringsGood working knowledge of deploying and managing large scale applications and servicesExperience working in a highly automated agile environment where changes are pushed oftenSelf-motivation with strong, proven, analytical and problem-solving skillsA constant learner-mindset with the drive to creatively think outside the box and innovate
