Job Duties and Responsibilities
EchoStar is looking for a Staff Software Engineer who will lead teams in building the modern technology-based solutions that enable millions of Americans to connect and converse with one another. You will work in a complex, fast-paced, and highly elastic environment that provides growth opportunities to learn by working closely with different teams, functions, and organization units.
Key Responsibilities:
Technically lead a team of engineers with varying levels of skills in Java DevelopmentCollaborate with PO and cross-functional stakeholders to elicit requirements, and then design & develop highly scalable and secure Restful Microservices in Java, Spring Boot & AWS EKS environmentBe the Go-To person for Development Manager for all the technical aspects of the teamDesign and develop Develop Web applications using Python or Node.js using AWS Lambdas and other serverless technologiesDesign and develop API specifications using OpenAPI SpecificationsEnsure high-quality delivery by working closely with development & testing teams, performing peer reviews of codeCreate and enhance Continuous Delivery, Integration & Validation practices with the help of tools like GitLab, Harness, etc.Implement logging, monitoring, and reporting capabilities for the developed servicesHelp develop solutions that integrate with 3rd party and vendor systems to seamlesslyAssist support teams with domain and functional knowledge in troubleshooting technical production issuesCreate appropriate technical documentation to support project delivery and support plansParticipate and contribute to grooming technical user stories with the agile software development team

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field High-level qualifications6+ years experience as a full-stack software developer in Java, Spring boot, and Node.js in on-prem and cloud-native environments6+ years of experience building API architecture/management for REST APIs4+ years of experience building and managing microservices in AWS or other cloud platformsExperience working in an Agile environment: Scrum and Kanban using tools like JIRA, Rally, etc
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in Billing and Credit as well as Financing related conceptsExtensive experience developing web applications using Java and Spring bootExperience developing serverless applications using AWS Lambdas, Redis, SQS, and other technologies.Demonstrated experience in Event Driven Architecture, message-based architectures, caching strategies and frameworksDemonstrated experience with CI/CD processes & technologiesDemonstrated performance of threat modeling, risk assessment techniques, and code reviewsExperience working with DB solutions such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, DocumentDB, etc.Experience using SDLC tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Rally, or other Git-based source controlExperience with Swagger/Swagger HubExperience with API Gateways such as ApigeeExperience with Docker & Kubernetes and building microservices
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $110,100.00/Year - $157,300.00/YearBenefits
