The qualified candidate will have exciting, challenging, and rewarding opportunities to support existing and develop next generation military communications applications. This important work contributes to the safety and effectiveness of US and allied nations’ warfighters. An engineer in this position is responsible for leading projects, developing and managing schedules, generating bids/proposals, and participating in the entire software development lifecycle. The software engineers working in this field often work on a variety of cutting edge projects over their careers, as we design embedded systems for the ground, air, shipboard, and space-based communication systems.Essential Functions:Develop software for embedded devices and systems from requirements to productionDesign, code, test and debug embedded softwareReview design documentation and source codeSupport integration/validation of new product designsProvide production supportCollaborate with a cross-functional engineering teamQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.Preferred Additional Skills:4+ years of experience in embedded software engineeringExperience with hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targetsExperience in object-oriented software architecture and designExperience in embedded systems design, including use of an RTOSWorking knowledge of signal processing, control systems, networkingExperience with drivers/hardware interfaces including PCIe, 1553, RS232, SPI, I2C, FPGAs, and other unique hardwareKnowledge of protocols such as IP, UDP, TCP, EtherCAT, CAN, RTPS/DDSL3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
