About the OpportunityJOB SUMMARY:The Student Financial Services Assistant is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to students and applicants and their families seeking information and/or assistance via phone or in person from Student Financial Services. Ensures student understanding of policies and procedures related to financial aid and student accounts. The Student Financial Services Assistant role is a hybrid position after an initial onboarding period. Standard work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday with some weekend/evening hours as needed.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Provide administrative and counseling support by assisting and resolving inquiries.Intake all financial aid materials such as tax, citizenship, and identity documents.Process outside scholarship reports.Manage incoming paper mail to the office.Counsel all current and prospective students and families about their financing options and our financial policies.Provide administrative support to other financial aid units during peak-volume times.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Associates degree or two years of college preferred.Two years of related office/customer service experience. (An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered).Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications.Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner.Aptitude with relating to diverse populations and ability to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations.Proficiency with multi-tasking, prioritization of duties, and attention to detail.Position Type:
