Indev is seeking a
Data Scientist
with 8+ years of experience to act as part of a team designing and implementing data-driven solutions. We are looking for someone to take responsibility as part of a team in 1) design and implementation of data-driven solutions leveraging machine learning, AI, automation, and Generative AI to enhance business operations, and 2) providing consulting services to our clients. This opportunity is specific to our Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) client. The TSA office seeks to expand its use of AI, machine learning, and automation technologies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, speed up contracting processes, and redeploy personnel from repetitive tasks to more value-added activities.
Indev is seeking candidates with a mix of leadership, technical, and business experience in mission-oriented environments. We are especially looking for candidates that have worked in DHS and have an active EOD/DHS clearance.
This role will be responsible for supporting a wide range of project activities spanning business and technology environments.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Partner with stakeholders and team members to define and execute critical insights required for data-driven decision-making.
Serve as a hands-on technical lead, owning and driving insights from conception to release.
Act as a thought leader to drive innovation.
Oversee the design of data and technical architecture to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Design, build, and maintain comprehensive business reporting and dashboards.
Drive customer and business insights to enable data-driven decision making.
Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data analysis techniques.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven opportunities and design solutions to complex business problems.
Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications in business strategy.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline from an accredited college, university, or academic institution in the United States.
Active DHS/EOD clearance (TSA preferred).
8+ years of direct experience in data science modeling, statistics, analytics, business intelligence, LLMs, or data-driven solution design and implementation.
8+ years of experience in programming (R, C++, or Python preferred).
6+ years of experience using SQL, R, or Python to implement statistical models, machine learning, and analysis (including prediction, classification, clustering, time series forecasting, regression models, etc.).
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and creating data-driven dashboards.
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
Experience with databases and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
Ability to understand the business process and create process flow diagrams.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex automation concepts.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and capability to meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality solutions.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Previous experience working with UiPath, Power Automate, Blue Prism, and Appian.
Familiar with Microsoft Azure or AWS services (e.g., Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Lambda Functions, Step Functions).
Experience working in environments requiring DHS Suitability Clearance is highly preferred.

and be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and will be required to pass a government background investigation.
