Position Highlights:Sign on bonus: NonePosition: Telemetry TechnicianLocation: Chicago, ILFull Time, 36 weekly hoursHours: Monday-Friday, 7p-7:30a, rotating weekends & holidaysRequired Travel: NoneA Brief Overview:The Monitor Tech is responsible for monitoring the cardiac rhythms of all telemetry patients using video monitoring system.What you will do:Essential FunctionsDemonstrates a commitment to the mission of Swedish Covenant Hospital and demonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and standards of the Hospital.Performs Monitor Technician duties for the Nursing Unit.Other Functions:Monitors cardiac rhythms of all telemetry patients and maintains a safe environment.Answers patient call system and obtains appropriate assistance.Keeps work area and telemetry equipment clean.Assists in orientation of new Monitor Technicians.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Orders office supplies as needed.PATIENT CARE/AGE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Responsible for the needs of patients of all ages.What you will need:High School graduateSuccessful completion of an EKG Rhythm Interpretation Course, which includes a comprehensive exam. The course must be approved by SCH Nursing Education.One (1) year hospital experience as a Monitor Technician is desirable.Good communication skills.Ability to interact effectively with others.Ability to observe and report accurately.Technical ability for handling specialized instrumentation and equipment.Ability to handle confidentiality appropriately.LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONN/AMANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITYN/AINTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTSPatients and visitors, nursing staff, physicians, other hospital departments and outside facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes.ENVIRONMENTTyping/computer position.Visual abilities required to read Cardiac Monitor.Ability to react quickly in emergency situation.Exposure to noise, stress, and many interruptions.Benefits:Career Pathways to Promote Professional Growth and Development.Various Medical, Dental, and Vision options.Tuition Reimbursement.Wellness Program Savings Plan.Health Savings Account Options.Retirement Options with Company Match.Paid Time Off.Community Involvement Opportunities.
