What’s the role?
We are looking for a product focussed iOS Engineer, to join a multidisciplinary app development team, where you will work alongside other native and backend engineers, product manager, designer, and researchers to bring exciting features for our iOS app users. You will have the opportunity to work on the biggest bets for Etsy's business and contribute directly to Etsy's goals and growth.This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our

Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. Engineering blog .What does the day-to-day look like?Collaborate across Product, Design, Analysts, Researchers, and Engineering to build innovative and outstanding gifting experience on iOS app.
Build high-quality end to end product features in a fast paced agile environment.
Run A/B experiments to validate product improvements.
Lead and assist in performing product testing including unit, functional, visual, etc.
Continue to advance your skills in using modern iOS technologies in a collaborative setting.
Confidently communicate technical issues with all vital stakeholders.
In collaboration with your team, craft and improve processes that impact iOS app development across Etsy.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:At least 5+ years of professional iOS development experience, ideally in a product-minded environment.
Proficiency in Swift, familiarity with SwiftUI, and you understand ObjectiveC enough to be effective when needing to interact with it.
Are generous with your time and experience, and have mentored other engineers in the past.
Have previously worked on large applications with many developers or teams.
Can define and tackle unconstrained problems, and know when to seek help when no progress is being made.
Approach engineering from a product perspective. The work you'll do here will impact millions of users and it is important to understand their problems and find effective solutions for them.
Have app(s) published on the App Store, demonstrating a strong product focus and an eye for design.
Experience in iOS debugging practices and tools and can communicate complex technical issues in clear language.
Proficiency with version control tools (our tooling and processes are based on git and GitHub).
Are passionate about beautiful code and quality development practices.
Have experience with testing (unit tests, functional tests, visual tests) and accessibility frameworks.
Have a “leave it better than you found it” mentality, and are willing to work with and improve on code you did not originally write.
