Creative and Marketing Supervisor (Transit Supervisor) . In this role, you will (1) ensure prospective riders discover and choose public transportation; (2) improve the experience of our existing riders; and (3) coach our hardworking and talented creative and marketing teams.Serving a county with a population larger than 15 U.S. states, Metro provides bus, paratransit, vanpool, water taxi, and on-demand services, and operates the Seattle Streetcar, Sound Transit Link light rail and Sound Transit Express bus service. The agency’s national honors include Best Large Transit Agency in North America (American Public Transportation Association, three times–most recently in 2018) and Most Equitable Agency in Tackling Climate Change (Federal Transit Administration, 2022).This recruitment may also be used to create a list of qualified candidates to fill future career service vacancies that may occur in the next 6 months.
As
Creative and Marketing Supervisor , you will:Propose, refine, and implement research-informed strategies to increase affinity for Metro among current riders, prospective riders, and other community members.Develop and update an annual calendar of campaigns, channels, and results reporting in coordination with direct reports, as well as with colleagues and teams across the agency.Prioritize which projects to pursue and select the appropriate investment of financial resources, staff time, and/or vendor contracts.Serve as direct manager to Metro’s Creative Team Lead, Marketing Team Lead, Program/Project Manager, Social Media Specialist, and Translation Coordinator.Provide counsel and assistance to other Metro work groups to meet their creative and marketing needs.Identify, select, and contract with consultants as needed to work on Metro communications, marketing and promotional campaigns.Propose and revise budget plans, and carefully track expenses and funding sources in coordination with administrators, colleagues, and other departments.Applying equity and social justice principles is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. All employees are expected to model and apply our equity and social justice shared values, behaviors, and practices.We are looking for candidates who have:Minimum of ten years of experience developing and leading high-profile advertising, communications, and marketing campaigns that change behavior and/or shift perceptions.Minimum of three years of leadership and management experience, with a proven ability to foster a supportive, empowering team culture that promotes innovation and creative problem-solving.Effective in-person and written communications skills for interactions with and presentations to colleagues, customers, and partners.Expertise creating, updating, and tracking highly detailed and large-scope communications plans, and corresponding budgets and staffing rosters.Experience in reaching and marketing to diverse, multi-lingual audiences.Experience leveraging research to design creative and marketing strategies that effectively engage and persuade target audiences.Who May Apply:

This hybrid role involves a mix of remote work and on-site responsibilities, with an expectation of being in the office for meetings, tasks, and assignments as needed. The workweek schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and not overtime eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour workweek.Teleworking Requirement:
The work associated with this position is currently being performed in a hybrid fashion including teleworking, complemented with onsite work and meetings as needed. Frequency of onsite work will vary based on business and operational needs. Employees must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely.
