OVERVIEW

The Assistant Director of Admissions and Travel (level 11) is responsible for developing and executing a strategic travel plan for recruitment across all of Fuqua’s degreed programs (MBA, EMBA, MMS, and MQM). Responsibilities include managing an annual budget, evaluating travel opportunities and making participation decisions, creating and deploying email communications to promote travel events, representing Fuqua within a multi-school travel group, evaluating travel ROI, and maintaining and/or innovating travel presentations and formats. This position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions, and under the strategic direction of the Assistant Dean. S/he will also serve as an Admissions Officer, working with prospective and admitted Daytime MBA students to provide guidance, counseling, and support, and serves as a member of the Admissions Committee, reading applications and making admission recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with the Assistant Dean and Associate Dean to develop an annual travel calendar across programs for both yield and recruitment. Serve as the primary lead for selecting Daytime travel events, and coordinate with the other programs to ensure a cohesive and coordinate calendar across programs.

Utilize data to determine the best mix of locations, both domestic and international, to host recruitment and yield events. Track travel expenses to be able to determine ROI on specific events.

Coordinate with the Associate Director to align the travel calendar with the Virtual Events calendar.

Update and edit existing email communication templates to promote travel events. Create new mailers and email distribution lists through Slate to ensure all events are well promoted. Monitor event attendance to identify events that need additional promotional support.

Work with the Associate Director to advertise events through social media channels as appropriate.

Create or improve travel event types and formats to meet the needs of our applicant populations.

Manage details of on-site events, including identifying event locations, determining collateral, traveler, and alumni needs, and ensuring those requirements are met.

Work with the Program Coordinator for Off Campus Events to ensure that all events are accurately entered into Slate and visible on the Fuqua website.

Create, deploy, and review post-event surveys to identify opportunities for event improvement.

Update and maintain department travel guidelines and rules and ensure compliance by team, and maintain and update the Travel Binder as a resource. Onboard and train new travelers upon hire.

Create emails to be used for post-event follow up to improve yield.

Manage “virtual booths” for third-party events, identifying materials to include and ensuring the booths are ready for event launch.

Ensure travelers, student representatives, and alumni are aware of all event details and maintain communications with representatives to ensure everyone arrives on time and prepared.

Read/evaluate applications, meet with prospective students and campus visitors, interview candidates, and respond to email and in-person inquiries as needed.

Serve as a Market Lead for the Daytime MBA China market, and serve as part of the domestic Recruitment Team.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree required.

Strong organizational and event management skills.

Experience designing for social media is a plus.

Ability to turn projects around under tight timelines.

Detail oriented, driven, and organized; strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Eager to work in a team environment, and able to adjust to shifting priorities.

Comfortable giving presentations and public speaking.

Comfort with CRM software (Slate preferred), experience using Excel or other tools for data analysis.

Some knowledge of html code or working within a content management system.

Previous admissions experience preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience:

Work generally requires two years experience in personnel, college or university administration, or a related field to acquire skills necessary to provide program management, advising and general administrative support.
