Summary:The individual will work with and through the executive management team to ensure a safe workplace by planning and executing safety practices through preventive measures, training, and educating the employees as required by local law, compliance, and best practices in the industry. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Construction, or a related field.
7+ years of experience working in safety or risk management centered in Wireless/Wireline Telecommunication or Construction.
Thorough Knowledge of OSHA regulations. OSHA Certification required.
Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA-322, ANSI/ASSE A10.48, and other applicable telecommunication standards.
Comprehensive knowledge in areas such as Fall management, LOTO, arc flash, PPE, troubleshooting, high voltage, confined space, hot work permitting, trenching, excavation, underground boring, scaffolding, craning, hoisting, rigging, mobile equipment, and emergency action plans.
Preferred Certifications:
OSHA 500 & 510
Tower Climber & Rescue Instructor
CPR/First Aid Instructor Training
RF Training
Excavation Safety and Confined Space Instructor Training
Competent Rigger Training
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Safety Manager (CSM), or equivalent.
Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
Reside as the subject matter expert in occupational health and safety.
Plan, manage, implement, and maintain comprehensive Environmental, Health & Safety Programs on premise and/or site locations.
Manage overall safety approach for the company including managing a team of 6-10 employees.
Work with Executive Team to evaluate and develop system updates and tools to improve safety management practices across the company.
Drive high-level initiatives for internal company certification compliance.
Oversee scheduling and reporting on internal safety auditing process across all service lines.
Oversee all company training requirements and associated scheduling across all business units with the assistance of Executive Team.
Review company’s subcontractor occupational safety policies, guidelines, and standards to determine their consistency with accepted principles and practices and recommend technical changes as needed.
Directly responsible for developing monthly and quarterly safety and compliance reporting.
In conjunction with TEP qualification team, work to review and approve safety metrics for subcontractors as a part of the vendor onboarding process.
Manage all third-party safety auditing platforms such as Avetta, ISNetworld, etc.
Measure effectiveness of controls implemented to correct unsafe conditions and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries.
Provide advice and counsel to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal programs such as OSHA.
Review all incident investigation reports along with supporting documents, analyze and interpret accident or incident reports and review recommendations for corrective action to eliminate unsafe conditions and assist in their implementation.
Manage workers’ compensation, auto, and general liability claims by entering claims, updating files, and tracking progress.
Develop safety and training policies and programs, procedures, and manuals as needed.
Review all MVR checks to ensure compliance with company and insurance policy requirements.
Complete OSHA regulated training reports.
Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
Other Duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear, climb stairs and/or ladders. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
