The Assistant County Attorney will support the County Attorney in providing legal advice and representation to the county government. This role involves conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and assisting in courtroom proceedings. The position may include prosecution of juvenile, felony, misdemeanor, and/or traffic cases.Qualifications:
Must be licensed to practice in the State of Kansas or signed up for next bar exam0-5 years of relevant legal experienceStrong knowledge of municipal law, government operations, and legal proceduresExcellent research, writing, and communication skillsResponsibilities:
Assist the County Attorney in drafting legal documents, such as contracts, ordinances, and resolutionsConduct legal research on various issues affecting the county governmentProvide support during court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedingsReview and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to advise county officialsCollaborate with other county departments and external legal counsel as neededKeep abreast of changes in the law and legal trends that may impact the countyAdditional Requirements:
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriatelyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyProfessional demeanor and strong work ethicBenefits Include:
