The Practical Training Advisor is responsible for overseeing all practical training processes at Trine University. The Practical Training Advisor works with international students to assist them in practical training opportunities offered to international students with F-1 visas, including Optional Practical Training (OPT) and Curricular Practical Training (CPT). This individual manages all practical training e-form requests, monitors practical training authorizations in SEVIS, and oversees the required enrollment for the CPT internship course. Additionally, this position assists students by serving as a Designated School Official (DSO).Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Advise F-1 international students on matters related to practical training.Process CPT & OPT applications and e-form requests.Communicate practical training processes, procedures, and regulations with international students.Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO).Process F-1 international student employment authorization requests including I-20s.Advise students on immigration status related information.Work with the Office of International Services staff on practical training inquiries and education.Ensure students enrolled in CPT are registered for the CPT internship course each semester.Provide students with practical training related documents when requested.Oversee the practical training email inbox.Stay up-to-date on government updates for international students.Additional duties as assigned.Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred and experience with international student relations preferred.Benefits
