MISSION STATEMENT:
Legacy Academy partners with Branson area parents to develop truth-grounded, spiritually-formed, culturally-transforming Christ followers by classically cultivating affections for the True, Good, and Beautiful.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Legacy Academy Assistant Head of School will lead as a gentle and humble servant of Christ under the direction and guidance of the Head of Legacy Academy. He will enthusiastically cast vision and embody Legacy’s values. He will possess boldness and courage in fulfilling the school’s mission and goals. He will develop and build relationships with staff, parents, families, and students of Legacy Academy. He will support faculty in creating an atmosphere that inspires wonder and love of learning by modeling and encouraging lifelong learning. Faculty will be supported by modeling and encouraging humility and charity towards students as well as receiving pedagogical and curricular direction. He will model to students and encourage perseverance, diligence, and repentance by modeling and requiring personal virtue, both academically and morally, as well as provide godly discipline in accordance with policies for the good of families. He will demonstrate the love of the Triune God in his relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community by teaching, serving, and living from a whole heart.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Affirms that, as part of the qualifications for this position, he/she is a professing “born again” Christian who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and who is growing in Christ (John 3:3, Hebrews 6:1).
Accepts without reservations the Legacy Statement of Faith and is committed to upholding it.
Faithfully attends a local church whose fundamental beliefs agree with the Legacy Statement of Faith (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Gives testimony that he/she has a sense of God’s will, that teaching as a minister is his/her calling, and that teaching at Legacy Academy is God’s direction for him/her (Romans 12:2).
Accepts and affirms without reservations and will support the educational philosophy and policies of Legacy Academy, as endorsed by the Board of Education and will work conscientiously to carry out the mission, goals, and objectives of Legacy Academy.
Acknowledges and agrees to remain fully committed to the pursuit of a lifestyle, on and off the job, consistent with the mission and vision of Legacy, compatible with historical biblical standards of morality, reflecting the message, mission, and character of Jesus Christ. Manifest by precept and example the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model both in and out of school in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living (1 Peter 2:11-12).
Clear background check required.
Master’s degree or higher required.
Previous Classical Christian Education teaching and/or school administrative experience required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong desire to build the spiritual, physical, social, emotional and academic foundations of all students in preparation to engage the world.
A strategic and collaborative thinker who uses their ability to see the big picture to evaluate and make thoughtful decisions for the school.
Exemplifies a willingness and passion for working effectively and productively with teachers, students, and parents.
An ability and willingness to deal with issues proactively, which includes excellent interpersonal skills to solve problems and resolve conflicts.
An openness to receive feedback on issues that will facilitate growth and achievement of Legacy Academy.
A commitment to model and promote life-long learning in themselves and in the lives of the faculty, staff, and students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists Head of School in variety of parent, student, teacher cultural tasks.
Administration Team:
Assist in team meetings including training and problem solving.
Coordinate departments for academic growth.
Ensure school policies are being implemented appropriately.
Lead and evaluate faculty as assigned.
Perform duties of Head of School when needed.
Encourage the pursuit of Legacy’s mission and vision in all interactions with faculty, parents, and students.
Faculty Care and Culture:
Build strong mentorship relationships with faculty.
Encourage teamwork and healthy feedback between faculty members and administration.
Assist in leading faculty training and discipleship (especially Kinder through 5th grade).
Assist in onboarding new faculty members and ongoing new faculty training.
Conduct classroom observations and make appropriate recommendations for teacher improvement.
Families:
Work with families individually and in large group training.
Give advice and assist in solving academic challenges.
Conduct interviews for prospective families.
Draft/edit necessary communication to families.
Students:
Interact regularly with student-scholars.
Help plan and execute events (including Student Culture Days) that are aligned missionally with the Academy.
Ability to sub classes when needed (especially Kinder through 5th grade).
Ability to lead student assemblies.
Ability to follow and implement Legacy’s disciplinary guidelines (especially Kinder through 5th grade).
Supervises Lunch duty (especially Kinder through 5th grade).
FULL-TIME SALARY:
Salary rate to be determined by previous experience and education.
12-month work schedule.
