to join our team on our campus in a high-desert, remote location in Ely, Nevada.As the

Director of Safety & Security,

you will shape and drive our comprehensive safety and security initiatives. Your role is pivotal in safeguarding our employees, state-of-the-art greenhouse facilities, assets, and day-to-day operations. With a balance of hands-on involvement and strategic planning, you'll be tasked with assessing risks, innovating solutions, and guaranteeing compliance with the most rigorous regulations and industry best practices. This position involves sculpting and establishing protocols, ensuring team members' compliance with safety procedures, and collaborating closely with cross-functional leads and teams. www.ru-well.comWhat We OfferOur competitive Benefits package includes 100% company-paid employee medical, dental, & life insurance, 401k program and a generous PTO plan.Career growth and development opportunities.Employer-paid on-site housing and Relocation.Company vehicle.This 100% onsite position requires 7am - 330pm Monday- Friday at our campus, an hour north of Ely, Nevada.Core Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a strategic safety and security plan aligned with the company's goals and objectives.Evaluate and assess potential risks, threats, and vulnerabilities to the organization and its assets.Create, prepare, update, and track employee training materials.Conduct and manage all new hires and ongoing employee safety and security training.Lead resolution of any safety and security incidents and effectively communicate information regarding events or solutions that may affect operations.Manage the Worker’s Compensation program with the support of Human Resources.Implement policies, procedures, and protocols to mitigate safety and security risks.Oversee and manage security personnel and resources as needed.Provide preliminary on-site emergency medical support and hospital transportation in the event of on-site injuries, ensuring all managers and proper authorities are informed.Establish and maintain relationships with law enforcement, emergency services, and relevant government agencies.Conduct regular security audits, assessments, and drills to identify areas for improvement.Lead incident response and crisis management efforts, ensuring a swift and effective emergency response.Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety and security throughout the organization.Stay current on industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in safety and security.Prepare and deliver reports to senior management on safety and security performance, incidents, and initiatives.Manage the safety and security budget efficiently and effectively.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Assist in researching appropriate and compliant third-party vendors for all safety and security-related needs.Assist with the Shuttle Program safety and security procedures (monitor dashcam, vehicle safety inventory, and driver training) as needed.RequirementsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree preferred (or equivalent experience).10+ years of relevant experience in the field of safety and security.4+ years in a leadership role.Experience within a highly regulated and compliance-driven environment.Demonstrated ability to work across departments and manage multiple projects successfully.Expertise in building strong relationships and establishing trust with employees.Skills & CompetenciesExcellent computer, communication, presentation, and training skills (ability to confidently lead training and command attention from staff).Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.Deep understanding of regulatory compliance.Proven project management skills.Strong understanding of security protocols, including access control, surveillance, and perimeter security.Self-motivated and proactive with a high level of accountability, honesty, discretion, and integrity.Ability to creatively problem-solve and remain calm under stressful and emergency situations.Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, handle multiple tasks, and adjust to new technologies or procedures.Additional RequirementsMust pass required background checks.Valid driver's license required.Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.Must be able to get approval from the state agency to work in the cannabis industry.Nice to HaveRelevant experience in hemp, cannabis or agricultural environments.Emergency, medical, or fire certifications.CPR Certification.CSP, CPP, or other safety and security certifications.Physical DemandsLifting up to 50 pounds at times.Traveling throughout the facility as required to conduct safety inspections.Operating basic office equipment.Using hands to type, handle, and carry objects.Stooping, kneeling, or crouching.Using close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Silver Lion Farms
