Position Summary:Monmouth University seeks a dynamic, accomplished and visionary leader to serve as the Dean of the School of Education. The Dean provides overall leadership for the school and reports directly to the Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. The anticipated start date for this position is January 1, 2025.

The ideal candidate will possess a doctoral degree in education or related field, have strong knowledge and experience of K-12 School Partnerships theory and practice, experience in college teaching and accreditation processes. They will be able to maintain a progressive educational vision based on international, national and local trends and standards, and will lead the school with the implementation of the University's Strategic Plan.

The School of Education offers programs that prepare a wide range of professionals, such as teachers, school counselors, principals, speech-language pathologists, and student affairs professionals. Through the Dean's Office, Office of Certification, Field Placements and School Partnerships, and the four academic departments, the school prepares students to move forward as educational leaders, both inside the classroom and in the local schools and communities. The four School departments include: Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Counseling & Leadership, Special Education, and Speech-Language Pathology.

The School is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).For additional information about the School of Education, please visit:https://www.monmouth.edu/school-of-education/

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Other Requirements:

Doctoral degree in Education or related field.

Strong knowledge of K-12 school partnerships theory and practice.

Experience in college teaching, working in School Partnerships, Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)/National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accreditation processes, state certification rules, regulations, and codes.

Five years of demonstrated successful progressive administrative experience in higher education with experience leading undergraduate and graduate programs.

Able to maintain a progressive educational vision based on international, national and local trends and standards.

Experience working collaboratively with a diverse population of faculty, students and administrators.

A distinguished record of academic accomplishments, including effective teaching, scholarly activity, and service.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of educational programs and professional standards.

Solid understanding of Professional Development research, and experience in providing such programs to community educators.

Earned rank of Full Professor.

Experience in accreditation processes, especially the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).
