Job Description

As a member of the office to the CEO, the Chief of Staff will work directly in support of Avy Stein. To be successful, the Chief of Staff needs strong leadership skills and the ability to influence senior managers. The successful candidate will demonstrate great attention to detail and high levels of organization as well as being an analytic and strategic thinker. In addition, the candidate should have high levels of empathy and understanding of what motivates staff with strong written communication skills and the ability to produce presentations that are clear and well-organized. Being able to establish strong working relationships with good chemistry is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Represent CEO at various meetings.

Implement projects

Enhance productivity and effectiveness across the organization by identifying and launching key projects.

Lead delegation and coordination of key projects.

Become key point of contact for senior managers for concerns and resolution.

Ensure internal management teams function effectively.

Advance strategic initiatives

Act as a key thought partner, brainstorming and helping to identify strategic priorities and initiatives and solutions to challenges.

Support in enhancing communications internally and externally and strengthening the culture of the firm.

Research, written communication, preparation of materials and documentation

Prepare materials and follow up on action items for all meetings.

Ensure materials for all meetings are available in a timely fashion and follow-ups are documented and progressed.

Write speeches and other office documents.

Research and document credible sources to assist in decision-making processes.

Develop Relationships

Help the CEO map and foster strategic relationships leveraging a deep understanding of the firm's ecosystem and culture.

Balance the CEO's limited time with competing asks to focus on those relationships most critical to the overall vision and strategy.

Facilitate delegation of relationship management to others within the firm as appropriate.

Work with the Executive Assistants to ensure timely and appropriate correspondence with all key stakeholders requesting the CEO's time and attention.

Business and Financial Analysis

Oversee the annual budget for the Office of the CEO.

Provide context and analysis to frame key decisions for the CEO as needed.

Additional responsibilities as periodically assigned.

Qualifications

Needs to be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial and growth mindset.

Strong business acumen.

5+ years professional experience.

Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.

Project management experience/ability to parachute in, assimilate quickly, and resolve effectively.

Expertise in PowerPoint, Excel, and analysis of business performance/modeling.

High level of discretion and confidentiality needed.

Able to problem solve and demonstrates technical as well as strategic thinking.

Strong written and verbal communication; listens well and can easily learn to communicate in someone else's written voice.
