Our client, a rapidly growing communications firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant/Corporate Accountant with 2-4 years of experience to join their team. This is a 6-month contract with the potential to convert to a permanent position. The role requires 3 days in the office in downtown DC, offering an updated office environment and a fun atmosphere with opportunities for growth. Experience with Concur is a must. This position starts Sept 30, 2024.
Job Responsibilities:
Managing the daily accounting tasks of the branch ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of the accounting tasks.
Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process, including processing invoices, posting wire and ACH payments, processing payments by check, and reconciling vendor statements.
Administration of bank activities (monthly reconciliation, monitor daily bank transactions, ensure that all transactions are accurately posted to the general ledger).
Manage the Corporate AMEX card program and record monthly statements into the general ledger.
Manage expense report activity, payments, and postings in Concur.
Inspect paid and unpaid vendor invoices including cleared payment inquiries to maintain accurate files and records according to company standards.
Support to team for general accounting activities.
Perform account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct in the area of responsibility, assist with month-end P&L and Balance sheet review.
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles is required.
Ad hoc tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Required
2+ years of experience.
Experience utilizing Concur.
Strong attention to detail and ability to operate in a highly dynamic environment.
Strong analytical skills and experience with Microsoft Excel.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Netsuite is a plus.
