Job Description:
Children of America is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Finance to lead and manage the financial operations of our organization. The Director of Finance will oversee a team of five (5) direct reports, ensuring financial integrity, accuracy, and compliance with applicable regulations. This role is responsible for developing and implementing financial policies, managing budgets, forecasting, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
Oversee the financial management, reporting, and analysis processes
Lead, mentor, and manage accounting team of 5-6 professionals
Develop and maintain budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning models
Develop and maintain internal controls, sound accounting practices, and standard operating procedures that align with company mission
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support business strategy
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls
Collaborate with various departments to optimize financial performance and identify opportunities for growth
Monitor cash flow, financial trends, and risks, implementing strategies for improvement
Lead financial audits and coordinate with external auditors
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
In-depth knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and best practices
Strong analytical skills with a results-driven mindset
