The Stephen Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing shelter services and support programs for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Omaha, NE. Our mission extends to offering the HERO addiction recovery program and permanent supportive housing units, aiming to empower and uplift those in need. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Finance to join our team and drive our financial strategy and operations.Position Overview:The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the financial health and stability of the organization. This role will involve strategic planning, financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of financial expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to our mission of supporting individuals facing homelessness.Key Responsibilities:Financial Management:

Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports.Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.Budgeting & Forecasting:

Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparation and monitoring of budgets. Conduct financial forecasting and analysis to guide future financial planning.Compliance & Regulation:

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including accounting standards and non-profit requirements. Manage audits and implement corrective actions as needed.Grant Management:

Oversee financial management of grants and ensure proper tracking and reporting of grant funds. Collaborate with program managers to ensure compliance with grant requirements.Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Provide guidance and support in financial processes and systems.Risk Management:

Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure adequate internal controls and financial procedures are in place.Stakeholder Communication:

Communicate financial information effectively to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders. Prepare financial reports and presentations as needed.Desired Qualifications & Experience:Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in non-profit financial management is highly desirable.Skills:

Strong proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems. Advanced knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Leadership:

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a finance team effectively. Proven track record of strategic planning and financial analysis.Communication:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner.Commitment:

Passion for the mission of the Stephen Center and a commitment to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.Salary Range:
