Director of Finance

- Lead accounting/financial reporting, ensuring timely preparation of financial statements & cash flow analysis
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP & oversee all project/program & grants accounting
- Support budget development/monitoring with leadership & department directors
- Train, mentor, develop a top-notch finance team
- Coordinate payroll/benefits management & reconcile donor/grant records
- Implement best practices to streamline accounting process/support the Board’s Finance Committee
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting, ensuring all fiscal functions align with US GAAP standards. Collaborate with department directors and the board of directors to steer annual budget preparation, while managing a dynamic finance team, supporting independent audits, and driving strategic financial outcomes.
Other Information/Requirements:
- Passionate about making a difference in the lives of Native American children
- Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of nonprofit accounting experience with strong knowledge of grants and US GAAP
- Proven experience in strategic financial management, team building, & implementing creative solutions
