The Crisis Center is seeking a Full-Time Director of Finance to oversee all financial operations for a non-profit organization. This role involves financial planning, management, and analysis to ensure the organization's financial health.

Position Overview:

The Crisis Center Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Director of Finance to lead and manage all financial operations for our nonprofit organization. This role is integral to ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the Crisis Center by overseeing financial planning, management, and analysis. The Director of Finance will work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:

Develop, manage, and oversee the organization’s budget, ensuring it aligns with strategic goals.

Monitor financial performance, provide regular reports to leadership, and make recommendations to improve financial outcomes.

Oversee cash flow management, investments, and financial reserves to ensure the organization’s financial stability.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, state, federal, and local financial regulations.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Prepare financial forecasts and models to support long-term planning and decision-making processes.

Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.

Conduct risk assessments and recommend strategies to mitigate financial risks.

Accounting and Compliance:

Oversee accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as donor restrictions and grant requirements.

Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures that support best practices in financial management.

Grant and Fund Management:

Manage financial reporting and compliance for grants and contracts, ensuring donor requirements are met.

Oversee the development of financial policies and procedures to ensure effective management of restricted and unrestricted funds.

Board and Stakeholder Relations:

Provide financial reports and updates to the Board of Directors, including financial statements, budget status, and forecasts.

Collaborate with the Board’s Finance Committee to develop financial policies and procedures.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor finance staff, including accountants and financial analysts, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Ensure the finance team is well-trained, supported, and aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or MBA preferred.

Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive financial management experience, including experience in nonprofit financial management.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.

Proficiency with financial software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and effectively.

Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior management, board members, and external stakeholders.

Excellent mathematical skills including financial modeling and forecasting.

Superior attention to detail and integrity.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry 25-50 lbs.

Capable of stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, walking, standing, sitting, and climbing.

Proficient in eye-hand coordination, depth perception, and hearing.

Valid driver’s license and ability to drive as needed.

Work Environment:

This position is based at Crisis Center, Inc.

Typical work hours are 9 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility required for audits, training, or conferences.

Primarily an office environment, with occasional travel.
