Principal Applications Systems Analyst (Power BI and Microsoft Fabric)

The Principal Applications Systems Analyst will serve as a Business Intelligence Architect/Developer and will be responsible for identifying and implementing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions which will provide or improve the company's various information needs. The focus of this position is to work closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of customer's business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and the context in which the business operates and formulate customized business intelligence solutions. Responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include supporting all aspect of a project. Works on the Data Warehouse supporting a variety of systems including PeopleSoft (Human Resources, Financial, Supply Chain, Grants & Contracts), Salesforce, and various other enterprise systems.

Application support of PeopleSoft OBIEE/EPM.
Business Analysis:
Lead our implementation initiatives including facilitating meetings, lead standard project implementation processes including requirements gathering, solution design, gap analysis, functional design specifications for our system needs, system configuration, testing, training, and complete detailed documentation leveraging standardized templates. Provide consulting and system support throughout the project life cycle to our business partners by conveying industry trends, enterprise technology strategy and define technical solutions which meet the needs of the business. Stay abreast on business and technology trends to understand impact on our current service line portfolio. Work with enterprise architects, project teams, functional and technical analysts to design solution architecture that meets requirements and is scalable, easily maintained, secure and highly available. Work with other project teams to facilitate alignment for decisions that render good products and services. Speaks clearly and can be easily understood while using appropriate grammar and choice of words in oral speech.
Technical:
Holds or participates in regular project/work sessions with staff and business users to discuss priorities. Mentors and leads the staff to improve the current state of the business and systems knowledge. This will include updates to critical documentation of configuration guides, business process flows, testing scripts, technical design, and any additional needed project documentation. This support includes but not limited to; development, implementations, upgrades, and testing. This position is also responsible for the daily production support of installed software, the on-call recovery procedures and documentation for such software, user and technical support, and technical project management responsibilities as assigned. Shares knowledge of MD Anderson, technical expertise, and functional processes and procedures. Prioritize, schedule and monitor activities and quality of work for assigned resources to include the creation of work plans and status reports to management following the Institutional Systems Development Methodology. Technically stay abreast of new functionality and industry trends and standards and present findings to other team members. Leads Proof of Concept (POC) or proof of Value (POV) efforts to evaluate tools and technologies to include in technical roadmap. Experienced developer in leading BI technologies.

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree.
Experience Required:
Seven years of progressive software systems implementation and support, business systems process analysis and design, domain or Epic software to include two years lead/supervisory experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred Experience:
Ten years' experience working with Business Intelligence (Data Visualization) software (Oracle Business Intelligence/OBIEE/DV), Power BI, Microsoft Fabric or Tableau. End to end solution architect in a Data Warehouse environment (Hadoop, Big Data, Snowflake, Data Virtualization), Hyperion Planning.
Hands on experience with cloud solutions including Oracle Analytics, Database, etc. Experience with multiple lines of business including Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, Grants and Contracts.
