Prepares the consolidated financial statements, management reporting, and performs variance analysis monthly. The manager plays a pivotal role supporting our international operations and is involved with compliance audits and year-end audit.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage the monthly close process, ensuring all journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation are completed accurately and on time.Review monthly bank reconciliations and daily cash reporting.Manage the monthly intercompany close process, including preparing and inputting journal entries, preparing intercompany account reconciliations, researching issues with subsidiaries, and performing foreign currency revaluation and translation.Oversee the preparation and review of US-managed foreign financial statements prepared by third-party service providers, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements ensuring proper eliminations of all intercompany balances and profit.Ensure non-US subsidiaries’ liquidity are met for payroll and working capital requirements.Liaise with third party foreign business service providers regarding monthly accruals, audit inquiries, etc.Conduct variance analysis on general ledger accounts, identify and resolve discrepancies as needed.Prepare for the year-end audit, including reviewing and preparing quarterly and year-end audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries.Supervise and mentor staff accountants and other team members, providing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and accounting standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.Perform additional duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. MBA or CPA designation preferred.Minimum of 5-7 years of related accounting experience; manufacturing and/or public accounting a plus.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, and practices, particularly with respect to intercompany accounting, foreign currency revaluation, and consolidations.Proven track record managing and mentoring a team.Demonstrate effective communication, written and verbal, with all levels from staff to executive.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Proficient with Excel and Word, and ERP systems; SAP a plus.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONActively supports and complies with Pelican’s objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.Must be flexible regarding working hours.Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.Emphasizes ethical leadership and decision-making to protect Pelican’s brand and reputation.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.The approximate base compensation range is shown below.
