About the role
Gartner IT is seeking an exceptional leader who will be responsible for defining the overall vision, strategy and execution roadmap for IT reporting and analytics. As a key advisor to the IT SLT, the VP will provide business insights that enable them to make data-driven decisions, define priorities and align the resources required to implement solutions that will drive business results.
The VP must quickly develop a thorough understanding of the company business value drivers, business unit objectives & strategies, and current and potential future challenges, to enable the business to seamlessly adopt a process culture, standards, governance, and methodologies.
What you will do:
Define the overall vision, strategy, and execution roadmap for IT reporting, analytics and related tools.
Monitor and analyze IT data, define KPIs and OKRs to identify areas for improvement and to optimize IT processes.
Create visually compelling dashboards and other analytical insights in Power BI to improve end-user experience and maximize ROI from our technology investments.
Deliver key capabilities through reporting and analytics, dashboards, self-service analytics tools and the successful execution of complex projects to drive continuous improvement in the business analytic capabilities across the IT leadership team.
Drive the strategic evolution of current analytic capabilities while further expanding advanced analytic, data visualization and machine learning capabilities.
Partner with leaders to understand and prioritize their needs, collaborate on analytical solutions, and drive adoption of consistent reporting practices, visualizations and tools.
Synthesize findings into actionable insights that inform business decisions and provide recommendations that shape go-forward strategies for our global business.
What you will need:
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related field.
10+ years of demonstrated experience in reporting, advanced analytics, data science or related roles with a minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience – coaching associates in delivering BI solutions.
Must have prior experience in developing dashboards, automating processes, data quality management and building scalable analytical solutions to transform IT data into valuable business insights.
Prior BI hands-on development experience in PowerBI, Tableau, CRM Analytics, Qlik etc.
Good high-level understanding of modern data analytics architecture around Azure based analytics technologies or Snowflake or Databricks, which enables you to guide the team on scalable design to meet the vision.
Good understanding on modern lakehouse implementation is a plus.
Strong influencing skills to achieve alignment across businesses, technology teams and management levels.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with an innate curiosity and desire to question the status quo.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling executive-level presentations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts and analyses in an accessible way.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 158,000 USD - 220,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. About the role
