This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will work with other cyber security experts and other discipline teams to ensure compliance to standards and define processes around the required cyber compliance. You will also be part of the team working to define the requirements of the next human-rated lunar lander. Software is the heart of space vehicle development so your ability to collaborate with other discipline teams effectively will be an important aspect of this role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with developers to inform and ensure compliance to all relevant security standards.
Train, guide, and mentor team members on CI/CD best practices from a security perspective.
Set direction and goals for the team regarding project impact, product quality and engineering efficiency. Collect and analyze data to understand and troubleshoot pipeline performance.
Assess risk and design and implement risk mitigations related to the project.
Deeply understand the safety-critical software development process and find ways to create and apply tooling to make the process more secure while maintaining efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. or higher degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
5 years professional experience minimum.
Experience developing and owning CI/CD pipelines that deliver high quality work to customers continuously.
Experience using configuration as code tools to manage cloud resource and physical workstations (e.g.: Ansible, Vagrant, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.)
Experience with Linux and containerization.
Experience with scripted and compiled languages such as Python, and C/C++.
Experience improving stability through monitoring, analysis, thoughtful code reviews, and detailed feedback.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proven understanding of source control tools and concepts such as git workflows, versioning, branching.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with AWS ecosystem.
Experience working toward CMMC certification.
Experience implementing and maintaining NIST 800-53 controls.
Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
Experience hardening systems and containers.
Experience with Agile methodologies Aerospace Industry experience with safety critical software and/or tools qualification activities.
Experience with NPR 7150.2D.
Compensation Range:
CO applicants is $129,690.00-$181,566.00; WA applicants is $141,480.00-$198,072.00. Other site ranges may differ.
