Tactical SATCOM .Job Description:We are seeking a highly experienced
Network SME
to support the design, planning, installation, integration, and maintenance of backbone core-area tactical and strategic communications networks. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in
Tactical SATCOM
and a deep understanding of military communications networks, including the
Defense Information Systems Network (DISN)
and the
Global Information Grid (GIG) .Key Responsibilities:Design and Integration:
Design and integrate backbone tactical and strategic communications networks, supporting both core-area and extended areas of the
DISN
and
GIG .Requirement Gathering and Translation:
Gather user requirements from
Operational Need Statements (ONS)
and
Capability Production Documents (CPD)
and translate them into technical, cost-effective solutions that meet the Army’s tactical communication system needs.Network Architecture Development:
Develop network architectures for interfacing with adjacent, higher, and lower units, as well as allied nations, government agencies, and commercial services.Engineering Support:
Provide engineering design, development, installation, and maintenance support for tactical networks, including the integration of
Data/Voice/Video/Telephony
systems in the tactical environment.Technical Documentation and Reports:
Develop detailed technical documentation, specifications, assessments, and reports. Assist in systems engineering, interoperability, and quality assurance processes.Field Support:
Provide hands-on technical support at fielding locations, labs, and test sites. Assist with technical field evaluations and system test and evaluation activities.Technology Insertion and Testing:
Lead technology insertion testing relative to emerging network requirements and capabilities within the
PM TN
environment.Virtualization and Storage Expertise:
Possess expertise in
VMware ,
EMC ,
NetApp ,
Microsoft ,
Dell , and
HP
storage and virtualization technologies.Cisco Expertise:
Demonstrate proficiency in
Cisco IOS/NXOS ,
Cisco ISE ,
Cisco UCS ,
Cisco ASA , and
Routing Protocols
(BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP). Expertise in
MULTICAST ,
LAN/VLAN design , and
VOIP
systems including
Cisco Call Manager
and
Redcom Sigma Core .Network Protocol Analysis:
Experience using tools like
Sniffer
and
Wireshark
for protocol analysis.Familiarity with Army Systems:
Provide support for
Army Software Baselines ,
Architectures , and the development of network configurations and products.Field Expertise:
Offer on-site technical support at field locations, and assist in technology implementation and field testing.Technical Skills and Requirements:Expertise in Tactical SATCOM systems
and integration with military networks.Knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies from
VMware ,
EMC ,
NetApp ,
Microsoft , and others.Strong background in
Cisco systems , including
routing protocols ,
VOIP ,
Cisco Call Manager , and
Redcom Sigma Core .Protocol analysis
experience using tools like
Wireshark
or similar.Familiarity with
Army Software Baselines ,
