Position Description
As the Sales & Event Manager for Alyeska Resort, you will be the key contact for clients booking short-term meetings within 60 days or with 30 rooms or less. You will be responsible for responding to inquiries within 2 hours of receipt or request and taking the booking through to its completion. You will process all details of an event, including but not limited to building room blocks, establishing a form of payment, and timely and thorough follow-up with the client upon completion of the event to build customer loyalty and secure future business with Alyeska Resort.
Position Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Director of Events & Partnerships and Director of Sales, Resorts to create strategies and tactics to increase catering and guestroom revenue in need times.
Yield guestroom rates, meeting space, and catering revenue to optimize hotel revenues.
Achieve a target of 50% conversion ratio on all incoming inquiries.
Exceed all booking targets and revenue goals.
Ensure accuracy of information input into Opera S&C for detailed follow-up notes and traces for further client contact through e-marketing, calls, and hotel events.
Connect with clients through conversation and active listening, understanding, acting on, and following-up on requests made by customers. A follow-up call to ensure client satisfaction and request for future business is critical.
Act as a conduit and liaison working on behalf of the customer to ensure all needs are met by communicating event details to the operations team and working with accounting for billing and credit details.
Seek feedback on your performance from the Director of Events & Partnerships and Director of Sales, Resorts; your Manager will provide coaching and mentoring for your success and career progression.
Demonstrate resiliency and look for solutions under stress; maintain a positive can-do attitude at all times.
Contribute as an engaged leader by participating in meetings, community gatherings, special events, social committees, and surveys throughout the year.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships and communication with all stakeholders, supporting the organization to reach its goals.

Essential Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism or equivalent; MBA a plus.
2 years’ experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area, preferably in the Hotel/Resort industry; ski industry experience preferred.
Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Programs; experience with Opera a plus.
Strong understanding of sales with an ability to plan and execute events with attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to maintain knowledge of policies and market trends of the Resort and travel industry.

Physical demands and work environment:
This position will be based in a fast-paced office environment, demanding the ability to multi-task and keep organized with the main focus being on incoming calls. Booking room blocks of 45 rooms or less on peak, plus any catering requirements, will be the main priority.
Office Hours will be Monday to Friday approximately 8:30 am – 5 pm.
Attend any social function or meeting to meet with the convenor and ensure a smooth event.
Achieve group rooms and catering revenue targets as determined by the annual budget.
Attend all Event Order and F&B Meetings.
