To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position using the Career worklet, please review this tip sheet.The Department of Medicine – Division of Gastroenterology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Scientist to investigate the role of innate immunity and the microbiome in colitis and associated cancer, with a focus on DUOX2 (dual oxidase 2) signaling. The research will employ animal models, human tissues, and in vitro systems to explore the molecular regulation of innate immune receptors in both health and disease, particularly inflammatory bowel diseases. The laboratory routinely generates and relies on multi-omic data (transcriptomics, proteomics, meta-transcriptomics, meta-proteomics, and metabolomics). Germ-free and gnotobiotic animal models will be utilized to examine host-bacterial interactions in intestinal homeostasis, inflammation, and cancer. Additionally, the laboratory is interested in studying the impact of diet and dietary modifications on inflammatory bowel disease and related cancers.
