The Morehead City Marlins are looking for passionate and motivated Promotions, Fan Engagement, and Marketing Interns to join our team for the 2025 summer season. This internship is ideal for creative individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in sports marketing, fan engagement, and promotions. The intern will assist with the development and execution of digital marketing initiatives and participate in planning and executing a wide range of in-stadium and out-of-stadium fan engagement activities. This position offers a great opportunity to work closely with the Marlins' front office and contribute to creating memorable fan experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Fan Engagement Initiatives:
Assist in the planning and execution of various in-stadium and out-of-stadium fan engagement activities, including theme nights, fan contests, and interactive promotions that enhance the game-day experience.Marketing Campaigns:
Support the development and execution of email marketing campaigns and digital initiatives to drive fan engagement and ticket sales. Assist with creating engaging content for newsletters, social media, and the team website.Game-Day Operations:
Work with the promotions team during home games to ensure seamless execution of fan engagement initiatives, including on-field promotions, giveaways, and special events.Brand Activation:
Assist with setting up and running fan engagement zones and partner activations at the ballpark, as well as at community events and outreach programs.Content Creation:
Collaborate with the creative team to develop marketing materials, including flyers, graphics, and promotional videos, to promote upcoming games, events, and special offers.Social Media Engagement:
Assist in managing and monitoring the team's social media platforms by creating engaging posts and responding to fan interactions.Sponsorship Activation:
Work with sponsors to ensure their brand presence is properly integrated into fan engagement activities, including in-game promotions and contests.Community Outreach:
Represent the Marlins at community events and appearances, working to build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and fans.Market Research:
Conduct research on fan trends and competitor marketing strategies to provide insights on how to improve fan engagement and marketing efforts.Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.Strong knowledge and passion for baseball and sports marketing.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with email marketing platforms, web content management systems, and social media tools.Creative thinker with the ability to develop engaging marketing concepts.Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends during home games.Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and video editing software is a plus.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in sports marketing, promotions, or fan engagement is a plus.Experience with social media platforms and analytics (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok).Ability to think creatively and bring fresh ideas for fan engagement and promotional activities.
