You will work with cross-discipline engineering teams & outside vendors to deliver flight hardware. ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all aspects of various flight and development composite parts from process development, to build, test, and integrationComposite material coupon fabrication, testing, and allowables developmentContinuously improve process development surrounding all aspects of composite part manufacturingOwn various composite process specification drafting and developmentTooling design for composite part fabrication, shop aids, and assemblyWork directly with machinists & technicians to produce high-quality hardware Work directly with outside vendors Spec, purchase, and implement equipment to aid in composite fabricationEngage in various development projects to test feasibility of composite part designsMinimum QualificationsBachelors' degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering2+ years of direct hands on experience with composite part fabrication utilizing prepreg, wet laminate, or filament windingDemonstrates extreme attention to detail Proficiency with CAD software and the ability to learn new toolsAbility to adapt from a quick and scrappy work environment to a mature highly controlled production environmentPreferred Skills and ExperienceMasters' degree in mechanical or materials engineering6+ years of direct hands on experience with composite part fabrication utilizing prepreg, wet laminate, or filament windingCreative design solutions to complex problemsAbility to work with complex assembliesExperience with Siemens NXPrior experience with spacecraft, aircraft, or automotive composite part design and fabricationExperience working on a launch vehicle or satellite development effortExperience in a startup or agile development environmentAbility to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphereAdditional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
