Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Tanks)Department: ManufacturingEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Redondo Beach Reporting To: Paul Seebacher, VP of Manufacturing Compensation: $135,000 - $175,000 / yearDescriptionAs a Senior Tanks Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible with developing processes for dome, structures, and tank manufacturing for Helios. Helios is Impulse's new vehicle - a 3rd stage/kick stage. Launching in 2026, it is designed to take satellites & payloads to GEO for 1/3rd of today's current cost. ResponsibilitiesWork with Responsible Engineers to solidify proper manufacturing processesDevelop & optimize manufacturing processes for tank integration & supporting structuresOwn the entire manufacturing life cycle for assigned projects & hardwareWork directly with machinists & technicians to produce high-quality hardware Work directly with outside vendors Update designs, manufacturing processes, and documentation to support continuous improvementMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or related field Demonstrated experience of developing manufacturing processes from scratch Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment6+ years' of demonstrated hands-on manufacturing experiencePreferred Skills and ExperienceMasters' degree in an engineering discipline10+ years' of demonstrated hands-on manufacturing experience within aerospace or related industry working with metallics structuresPrevious experience working within a start-up4+ years' of demonstrated experience with welding (laser, friction stir weld, TIG, etc.)Additional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
