Description

The Community Engagement Event Coordinator enhances the Atlanta Humane Society's community presence through strategic event planning, execution, relationship building, and fundraising. The ideal candidate is customer service focused, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes a hands-on approach to ensure successful event execution.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Plan, coordinate, and execute monthly Puppy Yoga classes

•Utilize creative thinking to design and implement unique and engaging Community Engagement events

•Coordinate Third-Party events, including responding to inquiries, evaluating ROI on opportunity by creating event proposals, ensuring deliverables, and attending as a representative of Atlanta Humane when necessary

•Assist in implementing fundraising plans and expanding community-based programs, partnerships, and other engagement initiatives. •Identify and pursue opportunities to increase event revenue and program reach

•Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and community partners

•Coordinate with the Corporate Engagement team to ensure sponsorship benefits are delivered effectively

•Plan, coordinate and execute Corporate Service Days

•Collaborate with the Marketing Team to promote events and build awareness of community engagement activities

•Work with various departments throughout the organization to support event needs

•Lead and coordinate event staff and volunteers' efforts, with help from the Volunteer Manager

•Develop and manage individual event budgets, monitoring event expenses and finding cost-effective solutions to achieve revenue goals

•Maintain project plans and update the organization event calendar

•Aid in managing Event Team inventory

•Prepare post-event reports and handle post-event follow-up including gift acknowledgments, auction fulfillment, market research surveys, and correspondence with vendors and attendees

Qualifications

•Minimum one year of related event experience, preferably in development emphasizing non-profit event fundraising

•Working knowledge of Salesforce software or other CRM preferred

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

•Interpersonal skills to solve problems and resolve conflict

•Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment

•Working knowledge of animal welfare issues is desirable

•Excellent organizational planning and proven ability to meet deadlines

•Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing

•Self-reliant, highly motivated, and positive attitude

•Methodical and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task

•Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license in good standing or be able to obtain a valid Georgia driver's license

•Must be available on weekends and extended hours as necessary to accommodate event needs
