Job Overview
The incumbent installs, repairs and maintains electrical systems and equipment associated with electrical distribution systems (i.e., poles, transformers, etc.), and exterior lighting systems. Keeps management aware of unique situations and problems encountered. Assists supervisor in regular and unique situations and problems. Identifies and reports safety, environmental and other work requirements for resolution.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions :Performs various electrical trade functions such as installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment (i.e., switchboards, circuit breakers, transformers, controllers, motors, poles and associated hardware), associated with electrical distribution system.Installs and maintains various lighting systems including security lights, traffic lights, and airfield lighting.Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications to install new systems or equipment and diagnose and repair trouble in existing electrical systems and equipment.Utilizes various measuring and testing instruments to work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring and electrical equipment.Uses insulating tools for working near exposed energized parts of electrical equipment.Adjusts relays and controls equipment to obtain specified voltage, current, time delay and/or other characteristics for appropriate operational functions.Incumbent will at all times wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position.Interfaces with customer and assures proper accountability of parts and time for each individual task.Drives and operates vehicles associated with line work (i.e., line trucks, bucket trucks, etc.)Complete and prioritize work.Responsible for completing daily work order log.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).Four years' experience as journeyman High Voltage Electrician and must have worked 3 of the last 4 years as a Journeyman High Voltage Electrician.Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.U.S. Citizenship.Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
