The team covers developments in the global metals and mining sectors that Wall Street wants to know more about, whether it's mergers and acquisitions, ESG goals and significant investments in new projects. The team is global but this position is based in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities and Impact:

Our real-time, subscription-based news service reaches an influential readership of investment bankers and managers, mining and energy industry professionals, and others in the global business community. The reporter in this role will primarily lead our coverage of battery metals (nickel, cobalt, lithium) with an eye on global operations. The ideal candidate will provide daily coverage of the mining sector's role in the energy transition and will dig deep into investment decisions among industry leaders. To drive your reporting and tell this story in innovative ways, you'll have access to our massive database with comprehensive coverage of the market, regulatory, corporate and production data.

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,600 to $109,400. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications

:

Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field.Approximately 2 to 5 years of journalism experience.Command of journalistic best practices (AP style, libel issues, strong ledes, nut grafs.).Must be able to juggle daily assignments and longer-term enterprise features.Knowledge of metals and mining sector or commodities markets an advantage.Must have an affinity for analyzing numbers, using in-house data intelligence, financialreports and other industry information.Must be comfortable using Excel for basic statistics and chartingFluency in English necessary.Right to Work Requirements:
