Electrical Engineer Job Description:
Talon Analytics is hiring an Electrical Engineer that is versed with board layout, trace routing, and harnessing to join our Vehicle Engineering team of qualified, diverse individuals in SoCal, however will primarily be working remotely from Tucson, full-time for 6 months. Some travel is required. The Electrical Engineer will create electrical paths called traces to connect components on a printed circuit board (PCB). In this role you will also design primarily at the wiring harness schematic and routing level, integrating spacecraft (power, data processing, attitude control, and T&C) and communications payload (RF, data processing) systems, and sometimes writing software in support of testing.
Primary Qualifications:
Ability to lay out traces to connect components, such as resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits, on a PCB.Ability to arrange components to maximize space and minimize trace lengths.Able to meet design requirements, such as impedance control and thermal management.Ability to ensure signal integrity by minimizing interference.Proficient experience with optical design tools such as Zemax or Code V.Experience designing complex harnesses to integrate electrical components/subsystems in Lynk satellitesWork with other engineers to identify and document harness and connection requirements, including shielding and grounding requirements, and mass tracking of the harnessCollaborate with mechanical engineers to identify harness routing paths and mounting locationsExperience creating and maintaining a master list of component connectionsCreate ICDs and other technical documentation as requiredAble to design harness boards and jigs as requiredMust participate in design reviews.Ability to support spacecraft payload integration, testing, and delivery to launch and/or spacecraft bus partners/vendors.Must Have Qualifications:
Able to review design documents.Knowledge creating board technology specifications to setup designs.Experience creating layout placement and routing according to constraints and design rules.Ability to set up the design technology and constraints according to design rules.Experience importing schematic and mechanical design into layout tooling.Able to work with other engineers, production managers, and safety personnel to optimize the use of space, equipment, and personnel.Bachelor of Engineering - Aerospace, or Mechanical EngineeringProfessional Engineer within the aviation industryWorking knowledge of Aircraft sustainment, configuration management, and certificationWorking knowledge of Defense or Civil Aviation RegulationsHold or be Eligible to hold a Defense clearanceCompensation:
