This position will play a crucial role in our Tier program activities, focusing on data collection, oil processing, and transformer repairs at customer sites including coal-fired power plants, pulp and paper mills, and other industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical and electronic troubleshooting, demonstrate mechanical aptitude, and have the ability to work independently and adapt to various technical challenges.Location: Remote (extensive travel required)Employment Type: Full-timeReporting To: Field Service SupervisorKey Responsibilities:Conduct Tier 1 activities, including on-site data collection and oil sampling on medium sized (200KW) Transformer-Rectifier Sets at customer locations.Perform Tier 2 services, including oil processing and transformer repairs.Execute electrical and electronic troubleshooting for a variety of service calls.Collect and analyze data, generating comprehensive reports for internal teams and customers.Operate and maintain specialized diagnostic equipment and tools.Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards.Continuously update knowledge of industry trends and technological advancements.Required Qualifications:Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial electrical systems or related field service role.Strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills.Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75% of the time).Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.Skills and Competencies:Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Strong mechanical skills and ability to work with various tools and equipment.Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.Physical capability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.Adaptability to work in various industrial environments.Customer-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills.Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with oil processing and transformer maintenance.Familiarity with power plant or industrial plant operations.NWL considers all applicants for positions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship, age 40 and over, mental or physical disabilities, military/veteran status, gender identity, genetic information, military or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other similarly protected status. Able to travel up to 60% domestically with some international travel.Candidate must be able to obtain a passport.Must have experience with high voltage electrical circuitry.Mechanical experience a plus.Must be able to write concise, clear, and complete trip reports in the timeframe required.
